The Sony Xperia Tablet S goes on sale in Singapore tomorrow, just in time for Christmas. The Android 4.0 slate, which bears a similar wedge design as its SonyTablet S predecessor, is priced at S$749 for the 16GB 3G version and many other Compatible Parts . While it’s more affordable than the latest iPad, which costs S$828 for the 16GB Wi-Fi + Cellular version, the Xperia Tablet S has a lower screen resolution and 3G connectivity instead of LTE.
The Xperia Tablet S will be available at Sony’s retail outlets and other authorized retailers from 21 December. Accessories including covers such as New Ipad 3 Pu Leather Knit Pattern Stand Smart Folio Cover , stands and docking solutions will also be available for purchase. Hardware-wise, the tablet isn’t terribly exciting–it comes with the ubiqitious Nvidia Tegra 3 processor and a 9.4-inch 1,200 x 800-pixel screen. Its curved design, however, makes it easier to grip when used in portrait orientation. Like its predecessor, Sony has also equipped the Xperia Tablet S with an infrared blaster, which allows it to be a universal remote control for a number of household gadgets.
Available in some countries from early September, sales of the Xperia Tablet S were halted when a manufacturing defect that made it vulnerable to water damage was discovered. Sony has since resumed selling the slate and the version that will be available tomorrow in Singapore shouldn’t have this problem.
